Make way for Chrome. Barely a week after Absolute Football, Panini’s pushing more NFL product before their license expires at season’s end. Mosaic is the first of Panini’s big three chrome-stock sets, followed by Prizm and Donruss Optic. It’s always been known for its flashy “Mosaic” parallels alongside the standard Silver Prizms.
This year’s checklist runs deep — 400 cards — featuring a mix of veterans, rookies, legends, and a few rookie variations sprinkled in.
Chase Cards to Know: Mosaic has a few case hits that have quietly built strong hobby followings. The short-printed Genesis parallels remain crowd favorites, and Stained Glass inserts continue to look incredible in hand.
The newest hit, Micro Mosaic, has collectors buzzing. They won’t hit Kaboom! or Downtown levels, but pull the right rookie QB and you could be holding a $1,000 card.
Talent Watch
The injury bug seems to be hitting this rookie class very hard. But nonetheless, if you read our Absolute Football Wax Watch, you know who we’re looking out for. Not much has changed since last week.
Travis Hunter, WR/CB - Jacksonville Jaguars
The two-way star hasn’t quite met the offseason hype halfway through the year, but he remains one of the most collectible non-QBs in the hobby.
Jaxon Dart, QB - New York Giants
Dart’s a clear standout in what’s shaping up to be a somewhat flat rookie QB class. With Shedeur Sanders benched and Cam Ward struggling in Tennessee, Dart’s strong play has collectors refocusing their attention his way.
Cam Skattebo, RB - New York Giants
Skattebo’s season-ending ankle injury cut short what was shaping up to be a breakout campaign. But in the short window we saw, the hobby was all-in — and that buzz will likely carry into his early card market.
Ashton Jeanty, RB - Las Vegas Raiders
We’ve only seen flashes of what Jeanty can do, but it’s clear the talent is there. Unfortunately, the Raiders being such a mess isn’t doing him any favors. Still, the hobby has taken notice — if this team ever gets its act together, Jeanty’s cards could see a serious bump.
Emeka Egbuka, WR - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Egbuka cooled off after a hot start and an instant connection with Baker Mayfield, but with Mike Evans sidelined and Chris Godwin still out, he’s the clear WR1 in Tampa.

🎯 Verdict
Is this Rippable, Stashable, or Junk Wax?
At The Hobby Wire, we keep it simple:
Rippable → A product you should bust down the door of your local shop or retail store to rip right away. The checklist, price, and excitement all line up.
Stashable → Not the flashiest release, but worth grabbing a box or two to tuck away. Time will tell if the rookie class or prospects pan out.
Junk Wax → Hard pass. Either overpriced, overproduced, or saddled with a weak class — leave it on the shelf.
👉 Verdict: Rippable Lite
Mosaic might not be our favorite of Panini’s chrome-stock trio, but it’s a fun rip with plenty of parallel pop — and a strong dollar-per-card value. If you’re into color, this is your playground. We won’t be busting down doors for it, but if we get our hands on some, expect a follow-up after we rip.
